Introduction:
The Archway Protocol was developed to empower builders, by giving them a greater stake of the network they help build up. As ARCH rewards are distributed to developers based on the usage they bring to the network, the protocol ensures that it is in the hands of those who are incentivized to do what is best for the network.
In line with keeping the Archway network a productive environment, it is important to establish a Code of Conduct the Community should adhere to when interacting on matters of governance.
Proposed Code of Conduct:
Code of Conduct
- All proposals, posts, and discussions shall be respectful and relevant to the improvement of the Archway network.
- Posts, regardless of stance, should always seek resolution and compromise. While differing opinions are expected and welcome, the nature of discussions should always seek to build.
- Insults, NSFW content, and irrelevant topics will not be tolerated, and could be subject to removal by a moderator of the forum.
- All proposals shall be up for discussion on the Archway Forum for a minimum of 3 days. However, Community Spend and Signalling Proposals should be up for at least 7, and proposers are expected to join an Archway Governance call on Discord.
- The community can vote in a community member to run the weekly governance calls on Discord.
Voting Options:
By voting yes, you agree with the proposal and would like to see it passed.
By voting no, you disagree with the proposal and would not like to see it passed in its current state.
By voting abstain, you are recognizing this proposal is irrelevant to you and would not want your vote to be counted in either direction.
By voting no with veto, you fundamentally disagree with the proposal and would not like to see it reworked nor revisited.

I’m proposing additional detail on acceptable behavior:
Behavioral Standards
Archway is committed to fostering a positive and ethical environment within its community and governance structure. In order to maintain the integrity and reputation of the project, it is crucial for all participants to adhere to high standards of behavior and conduct. The following section outlines the behavioural standards that all individuals associated with Archway must abide by:
-
Professionalism and Respect: All community members, including team members, contributors, and stakeholders, are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. This includes treating others with courtesy, refraining from personal attacks, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
-
Transparency and Accountability: Archway places great importance on transparency and accountability. All individuals involved in the project should be open and honest in their communication and actions. They should take responsibility for their decisions and be willing to provide explanations when necessary.
-
Conflict of Interest: It is essential to avoid situations where personal interests interfere with the best interests of Archway. Participants should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may arise and refrain from engaging in activities that could compromise the project’s integrity or create a perception of impropriety.
-
Quid Pro Quo and Unethical Practices: Quid pro quo arrangements, where individuals expect personal benefits or favors in exchange for their involvement in Archway, are strictly prohibited. This includes seeking or offering preferential treatment, unfair advantages, or any form of bribery. Archway stands firmly against any form of corruption, fraud, or unethical practices.
-
Compliance with Laws and Regulations: All participants are expected to comply with applicable laws and regulations in their respective jurisdictions. This includes but is not limited to laws related to securities, data protection, anti-money laundering (AML), and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT).
-
Confidentiality and Data Protection: Participants should respect the confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure appropriate measures are taken to protect data. Unauthorized disclosure or misuse of confidential information is strictly prohibited.
-
Positive Contribution: Archway encourages all participants to contribute positively to the project’s development, growth, and success. This includes sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback, and actively participating in discussions related to the project’s governance and decision-making processes.
-
Aftermath: When the voting period is over, though the spotlight will no longer be on you, your actions will still be a representation of the Archway Ecosystem. Whether the proposal passes or fails, please accept the results with grace. Do not engage in retribution against those who vocalized dissent and/or voted against you. If the proposal did not pass, do not put it back up immediately without changes, which would be construed as spamming governance and might create voter fatigue. Should you wish, take some time and adjust the proposal based on feedback to restart the governance process. If the proposal did pass, please continue to publicly engage with the community and be accessible while the results are being implemented.
These behavioral standards aim to create a healthy and trustworthy environment within the Archway community. By adhering to these principles, participants can contribute to the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the project while upholding the highest ethical standards.

Greetings - LOA Labs validator here!
Proposal #1: Code of Conduct - YES We appreciate this is the first governance proposal on Archway. Establishing an early CoC help set the tone for the community and creates defined expectations.
We would be interested in monitoring and potentially revisiting the timing for proposals relative to suggested 3 day minimum on the community forum (and 7 days for community spends/upgrades). Depending on the speed at which Archway governance may want to move we could see extending these times by a few days for more thoughtful deliberation in Discord, Twitter etc. Further, we might consider a suggested governance template/format if it doesn’t exist already to standardize gov proposals to ensure easier digestion and decisionmaking around proposals. An example is what we are suggesting here for Regen Network: Commonwealth – Regen
