Mobile Wallet Support for Archway

Fina - IBC Wallet On The Go

Project Description

Fina is a mobile wallet that allows users to manage, trade, stake and farm your crypto assets all in one place. Our ultimate aim is to encourage Cosmos Ecosystem to adopt daily usage of mobile wallet to enhance the user experience.

Problem / Solution

Mobile experience for crypto has always been lagging behind the web experience, despite the fact that mobile banking has been taking over internet banking for years.

Fina’s vision is to provide the best mobile wallet experience by integrating popular DeFi protocols natively in the application.

Detailed product description

Fina Wallet was launched on Secret Network for over a year and have over 10,000 users on iOS and Android. The product was a huge success and we received lots of positive feedbacks from our users.

After launching in Secret Netork, we have integrated with other IBC chains like Osmosis, Kujira, Stargaze, etc, we are looking to expand to more chains and will be providing the network users with the following features on mobile:

  1. Create wallet with 12/14 word mnemonic phrase, or connect with Ledger Nano X
  2. Send/Receive native, IBC and CW-20 tokens
  3. Manage native token staking
  4. Participate in on-chain governance
  5. Interact with other dApps with an in-app web browser

Value capture for Archway

As the first mobile wallet in Secret Network, we have acquired over 10,000 users from Secret Network and other IBC ecosystems to use our product. Integrating with us allows Archway to reach over 10,000 users immediately.

On top of that, Fina has over 80k followers on twitter and a good relationship with SCRT Labs marketing team. Our partnership can help Archway to gain huge transaction within our follower networks.

Besides integrating Archway into Fina Wallet, we will also be listing FINA token on Astrovault to increase the TVL and trading volume.

Development Roadmap

We will require 1 week to fully integrate Archway on Fina Wallet with all the features mentioned above developed. This requires efforts from 1 full time developer. The total grant requested is $10,000 worth of ARCH token

Leap wallet, Keplr and Cosmostation are all supported on both desktop, tablet, mobile, with Ledger. Integrating a new wallet with Astrovault is not trivial, unless that wallet has implemented all Keplr code functions, like Leap and Cosmostation successfully have.

Fina wallet is/was market branded as being an exclusive “privacy” wallet for Secret Network chain. The above screen shots show Secret Network assets, branding, and focus. Would be nice to know how this will be made Archway focused?

However, branding is a start, more deeper is the actual “privacy” proposition of Secret Network. No stakeholder wants to be put at risk or suffer liability due to not appreciating the difference between transferring or using tokens on Archway compared to Secret. I wonder what are the thoughts to how this will be addressed?

Curious, where does or when will, the use of the FINA wallet require KYC ?

The card seems to be for use in EU only, what about geo restrictions for the wallet?

The Google play page reports the last Android update as… “Updated on 27 Nov 2022” - why no update or growth in nearly a year and a half ?

Also, its a bit odd that the wallet is being reported as displaying a page like this…

Bottom line: a 10K grant and a week seems too short a timeframe to ensure concerns are addressed?

  1. Fina Wallet started as a mobile wallet on Secret Network but has gradually expanded to other IBC chains like Osmosis, Kujira, Axelar, etc. Partnering with Archway enables us to collaborate and integrate more Archway-specific features
  2. Archway and Secret Network have different use cases, target audiences, and ecosystems. I believe IBC networks are not competing with each other but instead working together to grow as a whole. On the other hand, our current users on Secret Network will have a chance to learn more about and make use of Archway
  3. Fina Wallet and Fina Card are 2 different products in which Fina Wallet will not require any KYC and is available globally
  4. We have made plenties of updates on a monthly basis but these updates are done over-the-air (OTA: OTA Updates With Expo - Pagepro) to avoid the tedious app store review process
  5. The reason for the broken UI is that, users are accessing a dApp (Shade Protocol) using Fina Wallet’s in-app browser. Shade’s web UI was not responsive at that time and that’s why it looks broken. This issue has been addressed by Shade and no longer exist
  1. None of the above screenshots show other networks on the interface of Fina to highlight how it evolved, and therefore, how it would support Archway branding

  2. You missed the deeper usability + liability concern about Archway and Secret Networks, but this is a smaller concern, compared to item 4 below…

  3. Ty.

to avoid the tedious app store review process

  1. Fina chose to “avoid” these processes since 2022, however, users of; Leap, Keplr, and Cosmostation wallets all gain hugely from the process. The latest update for all three wallets was only last week where along with the security benefits… transparent user reviews, product histories, and more, that give users a positive level of assurance value from publicly available app store reviewed updates
